International French is my native language. I am often asked by delighted fans if I pursue using my French skills even here in Charlotte, NC. Of course I do! I am grateful that I can put my French skills to good use. Here’s how:
FOR CHILDREN
AS
A TUTOR
-HELP! Following
the designated school curriculum, I can help a near failing student achieve
a passing grade. I also offer remedial courses once the school year is over
to ease the student into increasingly challenging material for the next grade
year.
-ENRICHMENT: I can enhance your
child’s ability to understand, speak and write French for personal enrichment,
with a goal of pursuing student exchanges or visits to French-speaking countries.
-BORED & GIFTED: If your
child is bored by the current French offering in school, and feels committed
to learning and understanding French, I can motivate learning with additional
and challenging material suited to the student’s capacity. Progressive conversation
to achieve the desired fluency level is also provided.
-RECLAIM FLUENCY: Raised abroad,
or speaking French in the home but no reading or writing skills? I can help
your child reclaim fluency with creative lessons crafted for positive results.
AS
A TEACHER
-HOMESCHOOLED: For many home
schoolers courses can be provided to enable a child to competently transition
from various School levels to College. A competent subject matter teacher
is not always an easy find, especially where languages are concerned. As a
native speaker, I provide the added edge for the student to succeed. I design
curriculums for such students, unless a specific method has previously been
chosen.
FOR ADULTS
AS
AN INSTRUCTOR
-‘ME’ TIME: It’s your dream
to learn another language and you want to have some “me” time for yourself.
If you’re seriously committed, I can teach you French! Depending on your ultimate
goal, I can teach a whole “nuts and bolts” French course including grammar,
verbs and tenses, oral and aural skills (pronunciation and auditory comprehension),
and conversation.
-WORK-RELATED: You have a great
job in a company where there is international interest. You need to learn
spoken and written French in the context of your work.
AS A COACH
-ALREADY KNOW: You’ve spent
some time abroad, you have already taken some course(s) in French, or you
spoke it when you were “young”. If you want to refresh your skills and reclaim
your fluency, I can help!
-LEAVING ON TRIP: You’re leaving
in a few weeks and would like to brush up on common expressions and sentences
to get you through some of the trip. Bonjour! Let’s get started!
FOR CONVERSATION
-DEVELOPING CONVERSATION SKILLS:
You’ve learned the grammar and verb tenses. However, you don’t get to speak
it often and find it hard to put a proper sentence together. We can cover
several topics of interest and discuss them in French in a relaxed and non-intimidating
environment.

-WINE INDUSTRY / PROFESSIONAL EXCHANGES:
All of you are welcome to inquire about the ability to increase your knowledge
of French in specific areas particular to your industry.

CREDENTIALS
I am currently tutoring at Charlotte Latin and am an approved tutor / substitute
teacher at Providence Day, Charlotte Country Day and Charlotte Christian schools.
I also interpret (relating questions and answers “live” from one party to
another) in the Carolinas Medical Centers system. Advanced studies were provided
through Victoria Business College, Canada
